MAS Guidelines on Provision of DPT Services to Public – Impact and Implications

MAS has recently issued a set of Guidelines on the Provision of Digital Payment Token Services to the Public.
The Guidelines seek to discourage retail public participation in cryptocurrency trading, given the volatility and higher risks involved. The Guidelines essentially prohibit the marketing or advertising DPT services in public areas, or the engagement of third parties for marketing.
